Description of Scheme:
This project involved the regeneration of an Oxford building into eight direct access affordable flats. The development included a communal rear garden and patio area.
Type of Affordable Housing Works Delivered:
Conversion of commercial premises to affordable flats, including the installation of new trusses, roof, windows, fire-rated doors, mechanical and electrical systems, and communal spaces, all managed under effective construction management.
Pre-construction work for the Oxford Buildings project involved resolving outstanding planning and ecological conditions, as well as conducting structural surveys and asbestos removal. Our construction management team ensured that all works were completed to programme, with weekly meetings between our site manager and Cynon Taf’s clerk of works. The project was delivered on time, despite the challenges posed by the Covid 19 Pandemic, and included all relevant certificates for sound tests, Building Control, Gas, Electrical, Smoke, and Secure by Design sign-offs, ultimately contributing to the development of affordable flats.
